The Vacaville Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Stevenson as our new Executive Director. A Vacaville native, she is the granddaughter of the late Lt Col William and Charlotte Waggy, and daughter of Mark and Mary-Betty Stevenson, all of Vacaville. She graduated from Buckingham Magnet Charter High School before being recruited to work in Los Angeles in the movie industry.

She went on to earn an honors degree in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom and was awarded the John Wacher Dissertation Prize in Roman Studies for her research. A lifelong student of the historical sciences, her academic interests have gravitated towards paleontology, geology, and archaeology and she has participated in fieldwork in Montana, California, Nevada, and Rome, Italy.

Nicole believes strongly in education and community outreach and is honored to represent and guide the museum as it develops and implements plans to widen its influence by more actively involving schools, members of the community, local businesses, and donors.
