Benicia: Images of America

A special Bay light falls on beautiful Benicia, on the north shore of the Carquinez Strait. Robert Semple and Thomas Larkin bought the land in 1847 from Mexican Army General Mariano Vallejo for $100, and a promise to name the town for his wife, Dona Francisca Benicia Maria Felipa Carrillo de Vallejo. This delightful visual voyage through time has been assembled from the fine photographic collection of the Benicia Historical Museum.
