Suisun City and Valley: Images of America
Suisun, a Patwin word for “where the west wind blows,” was the name given to the city and valley that flourished as a port between the vast regions of Sacramento and San Francisco. Following California’s statehood, Suisun City and Valley became a cultural hub from the influx of pioneers who saw potential for industry, agriculture and trade.
Lifelong residents of Solano County and members of numerous historical organizations, authors Elissa A. DeCaro and L.M. Ewing gathered the contents of this book from the collections of the Vacaville Heritage Council, Solano County Historical Society, and local residents.
